WSRE Brings Jazzy New York Nights to Pensacola

Announcing the hottest Jazz ticket in town! On the evening of November 12, WSRE's Jean and Paul Amos Performance studio will be transformed into a New York Jazz Club scene for an evening of food, wine and jazz entertainment. Guests will nibble on heavy hors d'oeuvres and sip on selected varieties of WSRE's Wine & Food Classic medal-winning wines as the mellow atmosphere transports them to a "New York State of Mind." Entertainment will include performances from three jazz artists, Kitt Lough, Al Martin and Constant Change aka Dawn Thomas. The performances will be taped for airing on WSRE at a later date. Throughout the evening, guests will have the opportunity to bid on some exclusive items. WSRE's "Bright Lights - New York Nights" is set for Thursday, November 12, 6:30 p.m. at WSRE's Amos Performance Studio on the campus of Pensacola Junior College. Tickets are $50 per person and are available to purchase online at www.wsre.org or by calling (850) 484-1261 during normal business hours.  All proceeds from this elegant evening will go to support the mission of the local PBS television station.

"In searching for entertainers we were looking for artists that aligned with our values and support what we do in our community," stated WSRE General Manager Sandy Cesaretti Ray. "These artists all share a love for our area, and are generous in giving back to their community." All three entertainers grew up here in Pensacola and have returned home to share their talents. Vocalist Kitt Lough began her career in Nashville performing with many notable musicians. Later in her career she held regular gigs at some of the swankiest venues in New Orleans. Pianist and organist Al Martin has many recordings to his credit, as well as serving as band member or principle performer in a variety of settings for a number of years. Constant Change aka Dawn Thomas grew up singing and writing songs from a very early age. She pursued a music career in Nashville and has written for movies and famous artists including Sandi Patti, Faith Hill, Earth, Wind & Fire, Trisha Yearwood, Lorrie Morgan, Anita Baker, American Idol star Melinda Doolittle and many others.

Chairpersons for this event are Elba Robertson and Ashton Hayward III. WSRE would like to thank our generous sponsors: Michael Johnson State Farm Insurance, Beré Jewelers, BPM, Roads Inc. of Northwest Florida, David E. Hightower PLLC, Republic National Distributors, Sprint/Nextel, Cox Communications, Pensacola News Journal and WEAR ABC 3.
