WSRE, PBS for the Gulf Coast, recently held its 2nd Annual WSRE Destin Wine & Food Classic on Thursday, February 25 at Seagar’s Prime Steaks & Seafood at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa. The benefit was completely sold out and raised $26,500 to continue the mission of the local public television station. Some 110 guests enjoyed a delightful evening featuring four of the area’s top chefs preparing their signature Gulf Coast cuisine as part of an elegant four-course dinner. Participating chefs included: Jim Richard of Stinky’s Fish Camp & The Lake Place, David Cunningham of Commander’s Palace, Bruce McAdoo of Seagar’s Prime Steaks & Seafood and Dan Pettis of One 20 A Modern Bistro. Entertainment was provided by David Seering with the Ray Hitchell Trio.
A live auction operated by Chris Camp of Roebuck Auctions raised nearly a third of the evening’s support. This year’s honorary event chair was Gordon Sprague and event hosts were Demetria and Richard McNeese.
