PBS President and CEO Paula Kerger on Conversations with Jeff Weeks May 5

Thursday, May 5 at 7:30 p.m. on WSRE, “Conversations with Jeff Weeks” welcomes Paula Kerger. Paula A. Kerger is president and chief executive officer of PBS, the nation’s largest non-commercial media organization with more than 350 member stations throughout the country. Since her arrival in 2006, Ms. Kerger has made particularly strong commitments to the arts, news and public affairs, high-quality content for education, diversity, and the use of new technology to bring public media into the lives of all Americans. For the 2009-2010 season, PBS programs were honored with 31 Emmys. In addition to leading PBS, Ms. Kerger is president of the PBS Foundation, an independent organization that raises private sector funding for PBS. Ms. Kerger talks with Jeff about public broadcasting and the role of technology in television advancement.

 

“Conversations with Jeff Weeks” is a half-hour, weekly series that is “personality-driven,” featuring in-depth discussions with unique individuals and leading newsmakers from all walks of life. The program airs Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Friday nights at 9 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. on WSRE, PBS for the Gulf Coast.
