StudioAmped Set to Premiere in September on WSRE

StudioAmped the four-part WSRE television music series, will premiere and air on four consecutive Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. beginning September 18. Each episode will repeat on the Wednesday following the original broadcast at 10 p.m. Preview clips will be featured online soon at wsre.org.

The GoodFoote concert will premiere on Thursday, September 18 at 8:30 p.m. The band consists of Mark Ellis (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Josh Gill (lead guitar), Dick Boyden (slide and lead guitar), Mike Tipton (keys and organ), Rob Rudd Esq. (fretless bass), Derek “Slo Mo” Hayes (drums) and Stephen Moody (drums and percussion). They have been performing together since 1999. The group is best known for their funky, blues and soul renditions. This episode will repeat Wednesday, September 24 at 10 p.m.

The 60 Cycles of Sound concert will premiere Thursday, September 25 at 8:30 p.m. This local rock band is known for their high energy, upbeat performances. Members include: Ben Bogan (drums), Jason Holstein (bass) and Rodney Uberroth (guitar). They won the Independent News award for the “Best Live Pop/Rock Performance” for the past two years. This episode will repeat Wednesday, October 1 at 10 p.m.

Blues singer/songwriter Sadie Blu will premiere Thursday, October 2 at 8:30 p.m. Sadie Blu is a shy 18 year-old girl from Milton with brazenly soulful and honest lyrics. Sadie began to play guitar and write songs at the age of 12. Too shy to share her music publicly, Sadie was discovered by one of her mother’s friend that works as a talent agent. This episode will repeat Wednesday, October 8 at 10 p.m.

The Gills concert will premiere Thursday, October 9 at 8:30 p.m. The Gills are a five-member band with an eclectic and soulful sound. They recently had the honor of performing as the opening act for Sheryl Crow in April 2008. The band was started by Jesse Wheeler who was diagnosed with leukemia in 2003. Wheeler turned to music as a form of support and therapy. Wheeler describes their music as upbeat and “Beatle-ish.” Today, The Gills members include: Jesse Wheeler (vocals, guitar), Nathan Dillaha (guitar), Andrew Prince (bass), Matthew Prince (drums) and Allan Castleberry (piano, keys). This episode will repeat Wednesday, October 15 at 10 p.m.
