CEO of Gulf Power Featured on PBS Program, Florida: Choosing the Future, September 23

Susan Story, president and CEO of Gulf Power, will join Senator Bob Graham and 11 other state leaders as a panelist in the Florida Humanities Council’s seminar on the Future of Florida. The program will air on WSRE on Thursday, September 23 at 8 p.m.

Florida: Choosing the Future is a unique television special that covers critical issues facing Florida, its leaders and its people as Floridians move forward economically, politically and socially. The program is a one hour discussion including major leaders and thinkers who have shaped and will continue to shape Florida. Panelists include a wide array of business leaders, politicians, community activists, media professionals and educators, including Senator Bob Graham; Eduardo Padrón, President of Miami Dade College and one of Time magazine’s 10 Best College Presidents; Pam Iorio, Mayor of Tampa; and Susan Story, president and CEO of Gulf Power. Other panelists include Helen Aguirre Ferré, Dr. David Colburn, Saif Ishoof, Jon Mills, Philip Mobley, Lucy Morgan, Mark Kaplan, Steve Seibert and Ruben Jose King-Shaw.

Florida: Choosing the Future challenges viewers to grapple with tough decisions in government policy, business development, education and citizen involvement – decisions that offer no simple “right answer” – but that must be decided now if Florida is to thrive in the 21st century. The moderator, distinguished legal scholar Professor Arthur R. Miller, guides a lively discussion with a panel of state leaders in business, education, politics and media.
