Pop/rock group the Jeremy Gibson Band will be the featured performers at WSRE’s next StudioAmped concert series, Friday, February 5. Multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter Jeremy Gibson has formed a new pop/rock band. The group has just released a full-length debut album and will be performing songs from that new album for the StudioAmped audience. Gibson says he draws inspiration from artists such as Jeff Buckley, Rich Mullins, Radiohead and The Shins, and those influences definitely come through in his songs. Band members include Jeremy Gibson on guitar, vocals and keys; Josh Sullivan, guitar and keys; Jesse Dillaha, guitar; Brandon McKenzie, bass; Duane Mays, drums; and Lauren Naherny, keys and vocals. If you like good, original music and are looking for something fun and free to do on Friday nights, StudioAmped, presented by GoPensacola.com, is the place to be. With a wide variety of musical genres such as rhythm & blues, rock, western swing, indie and country, the series will appeal to music-lovers of all ages. All concerts will last approximately 90 minutes. Each of the eight concerts will be made into a one-hour TV program and air on WSRE Thursdays starting April 8, 2010, from 9-10 p.m. with a repeat the following Wednesdays from 10-11 p.m. For those that can’t make it to the concerts, TK101 will be streaming them live on their website at www.tk101.com.
WHAT: StudioAmped is an eight-week concert series, produced by local PBS TV station WSRE, featuring regional bands performing original material.
WHEN: Every Friday night from January 15-March 5, 2010. Doors open at 6 p.m. Concerts start at 7 p.m.
COST: Free and open to the public.
WHERE: WSRE Jean & Paul Amos Performance Studio on PJC’s Pensacola campus (corner of 12th Ave. and College Blvd.)
