WSRE's StudioAmped Concert Series Features Sounding Rick February 4


Sounding Rick will be the featured performers of WSRE’s StudioAmped concert series on Friday, February 4 at 7 p.m. A talented singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with an extensive background, Rick Reynolds has been playing the drums since age 7. After relocating to Fort Walton Beach, Florida in 1995, Rick continued entertaining music lovers with his wide catalog of original songs and high energy live performances. After George Clinton heard his performance, Rick’s band became the P-funk All Stars, performing with George Clinton to standing-room only crowds. From his work with George Clinton to renowned Utopia / Meatloaf bassist Kasim Sulton, Rick has worked with some of the greatest artists of our time. From two tours of every major city in Japan to releasing 10 albums in just the last five years, Rick has been busy building an international following of music lovers eager for something new and different. Their new album, Dinosaur Bones, was released worldwide on January 19, 2011. Band members include Rick Reynolds, Donnie Morgan, Bomani, Mike Cusamano, Michael Glenn, Greg Roth, Jim LaBerge, Jimmy James, Chris Gardner, Jim Andrews, Gwen McCrae and Kasim Sulton. If you like good, original music and are looking for something fun and free to do on Friday nights, StudioAmped, presented by GoPensacola.com, is the place to be. With a wide variety of musical genres including rhythm & blues, rock, reggae, indie, country and more, the series has drawn music-lovers of all ages. All concerts will last approximately 90 minutes. Each concert is being taped in high definition and will air on WSRE Thursdays starting April 14, 2011, 9 p.m. with a repeat the following Wednesdays at 10 p.m. For those that can’t make it to the concerts, TK101 will be streaming the audio live on their website at www.tk101.com.
WHAT: StudioAmped is a concert series featuring bands performing original material, produced by local PBS TV station WSRE.
WHEN: Every Friday night from January 14-March 4. Doors open at 6 p.m. Concerts start at 7 p.m.
COST: Free and open to the public.
WHERE: WSRE Jean & Paul Amos Performance Studio on Pensacola State College campus (corner of 12th Ave. and College Blvd.)
BONUS: Free food and drink will be offered before the shows to all attendees.
