Friday, April 8 at 9 p.m. on WSRE, "Conversations with Jeff Weeks" welcomes renowned psychiatrist Dr. John Woodall. Dr. Woodall, a former faculty member at Harvard Medical School, is the Founder and Director of The Unity Project, a system that partners with afterschool programs for middle and high school students to empower youth and transform challenges into opportunities for personal growth and united action. Woodall's specialty is emotional resilience, teaching how to bounce back from trauma and turn weakness into strength. Dr. Woodall has traveled the world to assist those in need following traumatic events. After the tragedy of September 11, he worked with New York City to develop a resilience program for children; in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, he provided resilience training in New Orleans and Mississippi. During Dr. Woodall's discussion with Jeff, he provides powerful insight into becoming more emotionally resilient, and the steps needed to transform a negative event into an eventual positive outcome.
