WSRE's StudioAmped Kicks Off Third Season; Concert Series Offers a Venue for Original Music

StudioAmped is an eight-week concert series featuring bands performing original material. The concerts are free and open to the public. From January 14 to March 4, 2011, these concerts will be held every Friday at the WSRE Jean & Paul Amos Performance Studio on the campus of Pensacola State College. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the concerts will begin at 7 p.m. Free food and drink will be offered beforehand to all attendees.

 

The concert series will offer a variety of musical genres including rhythm & blues, rock, reggae, indie, country and more. Bands scheduled to appear are:

 

January 14 – Bella Orange

January 21 – Heritage

January 28 – Mr. Fahrenheit

February 4 – Sounding Rick

February 11 – Mama Lucky

February 18 – Morris Minor

February 25 – The Internationals

March 4 – Rumor Mill

 

All concerts are being taped in high-definition by WSRE’s award-winning production team. Beginning April 14, 2011, WSRE will televise each concert in high-definition on Thursdays from 9-10 p.m. with a repeat on the following Wednesdays from 10-11 p.m.

 

“Now in our third year, we are excited to offer a venue for fans to see regional musicians performing all-original material, as well as provide the performances to an even broader audience through our television broadcast of the concerts,” states Jill Hubbs, director of content development at WSRE. “It’s a free, fun event for people of any age.”
