Eglin's Joint Strike Fighter Discussed on Connecting the Community June 30

Thursday, June 30 at 7 p.m. on WSRE, “Connecting the Community” presents a panel discussion on the upcoming F-35A Joint Strike Fighter arrival at Eglin Air Force Base, the primary training center for F-35 crew and maintenance personnel.

 

The most advanced fighter jet in the Pentagon fleet, the F-35A Joint Strike Fighter will soon be delivered to Eglin Air Force Base. Within three years, 59 of the fighter planes will be based at the Okaloosa County facility, where Marine, Navy and Air Force pilots and ground crews will train. The F-35 is a boon to Eglin and the surrounding area, producing economic growth for years to come. Host Lloyd Patterson welcomes Okaloosa County Commissioner Wayne Harris and Lockheed Martin Vice President J.R. McDonald to the panel discussing the F-35 and its impact on the area.
